There are four categories of Distributors and they are as follows:
- Online Distributor
- National Distributor
- Regional Distributor and
- Community Distributor
Online Distributor
An Online Distributor is a Distributor that is licensed by the Board to distribute and market Films and Video works across the country using the internet Platforms or social networks.
Requirements for an Online Distributor

- A completed application form, attached with a passport photograph of the Chief Executive Officer.
- The certificate of incorporation, with a minimum share capital of three million naira (N3,000,000.00).
- Certified True Copy of the company’s Memorandum and Article of Association. (Film and Movie distribution or marketing must be one of objectives of the company)
- Certified True Copy of the Certificate of particulars of Directors of the company.
- The Company’s Mandatory Officer. (The Mandatory Officers are the CEO, The Accountant and a legal Officer or a formal relationship with a lawyer or a law firm). This must be well articulated in the company’s profile.
- An identifiable office in any part of the country. (To be explained in the company’s profile).
- Must have presence in the six (6) Geographical Zones of the country. This can be in the form of Branches, Affiliates and associates. (The details shall be stated in the company’s profile).
- The Company’s profile containing;
- Profile of the company,
- Profile of the Directors,
- Profile of the mandatory officers,
- Distribution plan (channels) and the company’s associates and affiliates.
- Reference letter from the Bank.
- Photocopy of the Company’s Tax Identification Number (TIN) from FIRS.
- A printout copy of the Remita payment and NFVCB official payment receipt. The payments of twelve thousand naira (N12,000.00) processing fee and the five hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00) licensing fee. Making it a total of five hundred and twelve thousand naira (N512,000.00).
Note: You must have a functional website for the Online Distribution.
National Distributor
A National Distributor is a Distributor that is licensed by the Board to distribute and market Films and Video works across the country.
Requirements for a National Distributor
- A completed application form, attached with a passport photograph of the Chief Executive Officer.
- The certificate of incorporation, with a minimum share capital of three million naira (N3,000,000.00).

Regional Distributor
A Regional Distributor is a Distributor that is licensed by the Board to distribute and market Films and Video works in a state within a specified Geo-political zone.
Requirements for a Regional Distributor
- A completed application form, attached with a passport photograph of the Chief Executive Officer.
- The certificate of incorporation, with a minimum share capital of one million naira (N1,000,000.00).
- Certified True Copy of the company’s Memorandum and Article of Association. (Film and Movie distribution or marketing must be one of objectives of the company)
- Certified True Copy of the Certificate of particulars of Directors of the company.
- The Company’s Mandatory Officer. (The Mandatory Officers are the CEO, The Accountant and a legal Officer or a formal relationship with a lawyer or a law firm). This must be well articulated in the company’s profile.
- An identifiable office in any part of the geopolitical zones of the country, you wish to operate. (To be explained in the company’s profile).
- Must have presence in the six (6) geopolitical zones of the country. This can be in the form of Branches, Affiliates and associates. (The details shall be stated in the company’s profile).
- The Company’s profile containing;
- Profile of the company,
- Profile of the Directors,
- Profile of the mandatory officers,
- Area of operation of the company,
- Distribution plan (channels) and the company’s associates and affiliates.
- Reference letter from the Bank.
- Photocopy of the Company’s Tax Identification Number (TIN) from FIRS.
- A printout copy of the Remita payment and NFVCB official payment receipt. The payments of seven thousand five hundred naira (N7,500.00) processing fee and the two hundred thousand naira (N200,000.00) licensing fee. Making it a total of two hundred and fifty seven thousand five hundred naira (N257,500.00).
Community Distributor
A Community Distributor is a Distributor that is licensed by the Board to distribute and market Films and Video works within a specified community, State, Council Area or any settlement.
Requirements for a Community Distributor
- A completed application Form, attached with the Passport Photograph of the Chief Executive Officer
- A certificate of incorporation, registration of business name, or any other substitute as may be prescribed by the Board.
- Photocopies of the Bank payment tellers and NFVCB’s receipt for Three Thousand naira (N3, 000.00) Licensing fee
- Bank statement of the Proprietor
- A description of the Viewing Center in a profile form, state
- The name of the Viewing Center
- The address of the Viewing Center
- The seating capacity
- Any other information that may be useful to the Board.
