NFVCB APPROVES 39 MOVIES FOR SEPTEMBER 2017

The National Film and Video Board,NFVCB, has verified and approved a total of 39 movies for the month of September 2017.
According to the Director of Film Censorship and Classification, Mrs Fatyma Sa’adu, a breakdown of the movies verified and approved for home viewership shows that the English language category accounts for 79.4 percent or a total of 31 movies, followed by the Yoruba language category with 6 movies. A further perusal shows as follows; Hausa language movies 1, Igbo language movies 1, Efik language and Pidgin movie each had none approved in the review period. The approved movies are to be released with their respective consumer advisories of imitable technique, strong language, violence, drug abuse, and fetish rituals. A further look at the verified and approved movies by their ratings showed that no movie has the G rating, implying for general viewing, 7 movies were rated 15, meant only for persons 15 years and above, 29 movies were rated 18, meant for mature audiences, and 3 movies were rated PG, implying Parental Guidance. The 15 rated movies include; My Holy Daughter (English), Babban Zunubi ( Hausa), Cash Daddy (English), Wife Material (English) and Atata (Yoruba). Some of the 18 rated movies include; Battle of Blood(English),Mkpuhe Ihe Nzuzo (Igbo), F’oko Sale (Yoruba), and Aye Omidan(Yoruba).
